Hi,Lawns generally shuldon’t be watered everyday because it creates a shallow root system which can put the lawn at risk of being easily killed when the weather heats up. A good watering twice a week is enough for runner type grasses like bermuda grass (couch grass) and St. Augustine Grass (buffalo grass). Three times a week is more appropriate for bunch type grasses such as Fescue. The key is to give the lawn a deep watering to promote a deep root system.Whether or not the lawn recovers depends on how damaged it is and what type of grass it is. If it looks dead then it may still recover if it has underground runners like Bermuda Grass or Zoysia Temple Grass. Unfortunately there’s not much chance of recovery if it’s a bunch type grass or St. Augustine. If it’s damaged but still alive, put down a good fertiliser and start your new watering routine ASAP.Hope that helps.

Hello! I am the co-ordinator of organiclea’s box scemhe. Great of you to link/mention/research us, please get in touch and I can tell you more about our sourcing policy and where our veg comes from. We have at least 20 local gardeners and allotment holders who have supplied beans, spinach and lettuce for our box scemhe this season, and every week is salad from Chingford. We are a tiny community enterprise and sometimes the newsletter doesn’t quite make it to the website but evey week our customers get a full run-down of what’s in their bags and why. Give me a call and I’ll tell more! Take care Rebecca x
